Riding for Dad

Cancer doesn’t discriminate. Sadly, it touches too may people– some we know, others we will never meet.

For the past 2 & a half years our Dad Nev, put up a brave fight against terminal brain cancer. Sadly, on the 6th June 2104 he lost his battle. While he faced many challenges in his lifetime, this was by far the hardest. And it wasn't just Dad going through this but our whole family – our Mum Fran and sisters Colleen and Michelle. From the start, we were blessed with the love & support from our family & friends, but the last few months have really opened our eyes to see just how much care & support is really needed.

The Cancer Council of WA provides essential support to those affected by cancer. Some people don’t have big families, lots of friends or just don’t know where to start. The Cancer Council reaches out to these people, and many more. This can be a voice on the other end of the phone during a rough patch, to transport and accommodation during treatment. They rely on ongoing funding to keep serving people in the amazing way they do.

In February 2015, in honour of our Dad, we are breaking out of our comfort zone (believe us, we are!!) to cycle through Vietnam & Cambodia on the Cancer Council’s Ride for Hope 2105. We aim to challenge both our fundraising and fitness abilities, give a little back, and hopefully help make someone else’s life a little better.
